A MATCH TO REMEMBER

Hamay tumse pyaar hy….

Well as far as I remember, it was the only day of my life when I was vowing to shed even last drop of my blood for my dearest homeland and die for my country. It was so happening that I was not alone having these feelings, I had 170 million people with me sharing the same feelings. We were dying for winning a cricket match which was going to be started in some days, then in some hours and finally in few seconds.

As the match started and as we saw the face of Our Respected Prime Minister, the bad luck started with the moment. As he was present in the stadium for the whole day then how it is possible that luck for green team could stay there.

The whole Bollywood stars were there, Amir Khan who uses to be the heart beat of our nation was there too. Cheering for Indian team, he gave the actual feelings of animosity between us. The difference between these STARs and us became prominent.  

Obviously it was the bad day for Pakistan. Pakistan couldn’t win the match. It should not have to be the matter of life and death or pride and insult. It was only a game which became a war with the hype created by media from both sides. What was the big deal if Pakistan lost; someone had to be defeated in the end. But we were insulted that day because we ourselves made it a matter of prestige.

EXHIBITION AT JUW

Students take keen interest at stalls during an exhibition arranged by Visual Studies Department Jinnah Women University held in Karachi on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. An exhibition was organized at the Jinnah University for Women at its campus here on Tuesday. A number of stalls were set up on the occasion to depict the art work done by the students of arts department. Colorful paintings, kolaj works, hand made wool work and lamps were presented in the most creative way and history of ancient art work were also highlighted. The hand made pot painting was very much appreciated by the audience and all the things at exhibitions were available at the most minimum price, on this very occasion education minister, pir mazhar-ul-haq also visited the event and did the inauguration of the event himself and appreciated the handwork of all the students and suggested to continue such work in future too. Vice-Chancellor of the JUW, Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Hashmi, and senior faculty members also visited the exhibition and appreciated the efforts of the students

JINNAH FESTIVAL

Jinnah University for women organized a fun festival on 26^th March, 2011.

The glorious Festival infuse vibrancy and enthusiasm amongst girls of juw, it was very color full event, where all the ladies had best moments of their lives. Although every one was steaming in the burning sun but the entertaining atmosphere made every one excited to visit every stall.

Different stalls lined up at the festival of a lot of varieties, bangles, dresses, art work, and electronic items which were crowded by plenty of girls. J Kids enjoyed face paintings and girls rock the floor with the DJ that played the best music at that moment. Girls projected different new dress style statements with their amazing different looks.  The best part was that outsiders were also allowed to visit this festival, men were restricted but ladies were allowed so the girls came along with their friends and families and had a joyous time together.

MPA Sindh, Faisal Sabzwari and Raza Haroon also visited the festival and appreciate the efforts made by students. He said. “Such festivals bring colors of joy in our life and this kind of events must be follow in future too. I am impressed to see the creativity and appreciate those who organize this event successfully.”

After long hours of studies and dull weekend with book this festival brought a smile and a relief for the girls and they enjoy every bit of the event and wish to have more of such occasions in future.

Mid terms fever….

Ting!! Its paper time L , all JUW girls get prepared for exams as mid terms are about to begin.

Shuffling questions in mind, restless nights, awaiting mornings, sleepy eyes and tensed atmosphere is witnessed these days at JUW.

On a general survey in all the departments of JUW, about how all the girls are making up their mind for exams and what are their plans, some of the girls said “these days we consider ourselves like book worms, 24/7 we are concentrating on our studies to get well prepared for appearing in exams and get cleared with flying colors. On other hand majority of the girls said “mid terms depends more on proper seating arrangements like sittings close with friends and set a perfect angle where I can get easy access to my friend’s paper. Rather than focus on learning, all in all it’s about having best coordination which we manage some how using our best capabilities.

On a question to a group of girls, they said “in mid terms we actually distribute our work with in our friends to learn, so we may not have that much burden and complete our paper with amazing unity, which is commendable. And do a lot of hard work individually for the terminals. We could have been more happy if we would allow to leave before unity premises, any ways we are enjoying our mid terms as well…cause its fun to be young J”

DANCING GIRLS, HANDS IN AIR, SMILE ON FACE AND BEAUTY OF TALENTS MADE THE EVENT MORE GLAMOURS.MASS COMMUNICATION GIRLS MADE MOST OF THE BEST MEMORIES OF THEIR LIVES TRHOUGH THAT EVENT.THE OVER WHELMING PARTICIPATION OF GIRLS NEVER LET THE EVENT GO DOWN.

MASS COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT ALONG WITH THEIR TEACHERS HAD ROCK AND ROLL TOGETHER AND THIRD YEAR PUT ALL THEIR BEST EFFORTS TO MAKE IT MORE HAPPENING AND TOOK MOST OF THE AWARDS OF THE EVENING BY THEIR AMAZING PERFORMANCES.IT WAS ARRANGED BY THE STUDENTS OF THIRD YEAR UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THEIR CLASS REPRESENTATIVES QIRAT SALEEM AND HUDA.

THIS WAS ORGANIZED TO WELCOME THE NEW BATCH AND TO GIVE THE HONOUR TO ALL THE STUDENTS OF FINAL YEAR.JUNIOURS ENTITLE THEM WITH THE BEAUTIFUL NAMES AND GIVE DIFFERENT SURPRISES SO THEY CAN ALWAYS REMEMBER BEING PART OF JUW.THIS WAS POSSIBLY ARRANGED WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF EVERY GIRL, TO MAKE THIS EVENT AMONG ONE OF THE REMARKABLE MOMENTS OF JINNAH UNIVERSITY FOR WOMENS.  

Explosion at railway track near Kotri




BLAST AT RAILWAY TRACK

 On Friday 10, 2011 low intensity explosions caused havoc across Sindh, damaged railway tracks and suspended services for hours. Large area demolished in the result of blast. It was a suicide attempt by an anonymous person who blew himself confirmed by the witness.15 killed and 25 found injured at the situation. Injured were taken immediately to the civil hospital of kotri near the spot. Police and rescue teams reached the spot and cordoned off the area within two hours. The bomb disposal squad that reached the site right after the crime scene has confirmed that 500 grams of explosive material were used in the blast. Police reportedly found a leaflet from a nationalist organization near the crime scene. Railway traffic however was back on track by noon following the explosions. Affected Will be provided financial Aid by government.

CITIZEN JOURNALISM




On Saturday, January 29^th, 2011. A team from Dawn news visited Jinnah University for women to mobilize girls about their forthcoming projects. This session was especially held for the students of mass communication.

MR.OWAIS MANGALWALA, producer and anchor in dawn news. Recently working on his new reality show “meri khabe”r related to citizen journalism, along with his team promoted the concept of citizen journalism in society. Students of mass communication were very impressed with his concept in which all the students were provided the opportunity to bring their concepts to the world.

“When people formally notice the audience and employ the press tools in their possession to inform one another that’s citizen journalism,” he stated

He said,“It is an Independent reporting, often by amateurs on the scene of an event, and disseminated via media in which every common citizen can participate. A common goal of citizen journalists is to recapture journalism as a truly democratic practice that is thoroughly rooted in -- and thus directly serves -- the real lives and interests of citizens.”

He further said,“Citizen journalism is democracy of thoughts. Sharing personal experiences in a journalistic way is an art, we would appreciate all those individuals who will participate in this and if we find their matter of our interest then we will welcome he/she to be part of our show."

After brief discussion, he answered questions asked by students and make their visions clear in all aspects. He further elaborated all the key points of citizen journalism to be focused and provided all other details through which students can approach them. And emphasis on the matter they would give preference and suggest that every thing is of human interest it’s just how uniquely one may present it.

He said,“The key to good citizen journalism is reporting – bringing to readers ever more accurate facts, verified observations and descriptions of the world around us. Television is a platform where you can prove your skills and we are providing you a platform to be known around the globe.”

This session ended with general opinions on the newly started morning show,“Mast morning with Maira” at DAWN news and how they can make it more progressive.

liberality defines me best as zahra jabeen,currently i am doing

graduation in mass communication As i never wanted be among

contracted mind humans in any aspect and mass communication

provides us paltform to utilize our positive skills and liberty of 

speech to what ever we feel is best.Free communication of ideas 

and opinions is one of the most precious rights of humans and

i always feel that Everyone has the right for the freedom of

opinion and expressions, freedom to hold opinions without

interference and to seek, receive and impart information and

ideas through any medium.I always perform my every act

with complete liberty of mind and thats all i sincerely belive

in.i have keen interest in online writting and expressing my

visions to others and making them aware of myths and realties

with complete liberty and i am intersted in this because through

this i can convey my feelings to my readers,and i will do my

level best to acheive my aims at best and explore my visions

with purity.....
